Fished Loudon on September 24, 2009. The water temp was 82 degrees. I started out with a swim bait. The surface was full of minnows, but there was nothing moving them. I switched over to a drop shot trick worm and caught a 13 inch fish on a blue Sapphire worm. Then I switched over to a blueberry speed craw on 8lb test with an 1/8 ounce weight. I caught a 2.5 pounder in less that two feet of water. The fish was next to 30 feet of water. This fish was extremely special. It was a Florida strain bass! This is the second one I caught this year. The first one was about a pound and was up behind the island home airport. That makes me excited for the future of our fishery. I caught one more 2 and half pounder and four slicks. Then came the wind and the rain. I spent an hour and a half under a boat slip in chota marine listening to karaoke. What a hoot!!!! Remember the one who created the fish we love so much and give Him thanks.
